Personalized Care for Hearing Loss

Dr. Cable is one the 40 million people in the U.S. with hearing loss, and is thankful to benefit from cutting-edge treatment. He enjoys sharing his experience with his own testing and treatment journey and can help patients and their families with all aspects of hearing health.

While we commonly think of hearing loss as a problem related to the aging, you might be surprised to know that 2-3 children out of 100 will be born with detectable hearing loss. More surprisingly, 1 in 6 children between the ages 6 and 19 show evidence of hearing loss from noise exposure. This number rises to 1 in 5 between people ages 20 and 69. More than half of adults 70 or older suffer from hearing impairment. Hearing loss has been found to have a profound impact on brain health, with even mild loss carrying a 90 percent increased risk for early-onset dementia. Hearing testing and treatment is available for patients of all ages here in our Frisco.
