At first I wasn’t entirely sure how I felt about Dr. Cable; I’m wary of medical practitioners who may not listen, are dismissive, rush, etc, as I have (a) weird/complicated (body) medical ailments, if you will.
I’d observed my ear via one of those tiny cameras for several months prior to my first appointment, I had many questions
(due to a lot of web research/reading, which I know some practitioners absolutely looooove 😅); Dr. Cable didn’t exactly entertain/address aaallll of the questions in a way I was hoping for
BUT Dr. Cable DID:
-confidently prescribed medicated ear drops,
-explained why he was prescribing those particular drops,
-explained why we were starting this specific course of action,
-and “demanded” I return in X amount of time for next steps.
When I returned Dr Cable performed a nasoendoscopy and walked me through it (“this is this, this is what you see here”), which I thought was super cool. He then prescribed a new medication, explained why, specified how best to take it for maximum efficiency, “demanded” I come back for next steps and XYZ testing.
After my second appointment I determined Dr. Cable wasn’t dismissive, he simply operates in a matter-of-fact, one-step-at-a-time, non-alarmist, root-cause-addressing methodology, which is what I really wanted any way.
He’s charming and friendly but not patronizing, and really, really efficient, which I’m sure is why I haven’t had to wait in a waiting room more than 5 minutes. 😆
What stood out most was his genuine concern for the patient. He spoke directly to my son, ensured he was comfortable throughout the visit, and explained the findings and treatment plan in a calm, reassuring, and practical way. His explanations were clear, balanced, and easy to follow, which made a potentially stressful visit feel manageable.
Dr. Cable has excellent bedside manner and a demeanor that clearly reflects experience working with children and families. Only after the visit did I notice his military background, which I regret missing at the time—it would have been a great opportunity to connect as a former Navy Corpsman. That experience clearly shows in his professionalism, attention to detail, and patient-centered approach.
We left the appointment feeling informed, confident in the plan, and well cared for. I would highly recommend Dr. Cable to any parent seeking a thoughtful and patient-focused ENT provider.
